Tonto Dikeh risks jail term for posting weed photos on Instagram?

For posting the marijuana photos on her instagram page, a representative of The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency is saying actress Tonto Dikeh faces jail term.

NDLEA spokesman Mr. Mitchell Ofoyejus told Punch

“Our attention has been drawn to the post quite frankly and I can tell you that action will be taken on it. The law is clear and NDLEA has been very clear on the issue. No one is permitted to sell, use, cultivate or encourage the use of Indian hemp in Nigeria. The weed is one of the banned narcotics in the country.

“NDLEA Act Section 14 (b) states that any person who conspires with, aids, abets, counsels, attempts to commit or is an accessory to any act or offence referred to in this act shall be guilty of an offence under this act and liable on conviction to be sentenced to imprisonment for a term not less than 15 years and not exceeding 25 years.

So if you get 15 years for posting a weed photo on social media, what do you now get for selling and distributing? And what about those who sing about it? I don't get! Continue...

Rapper Rick Ross sued by Jeweler for unpaid Rolexes

Showing off what he didn't pay for. Lol. A jeweler is suing rapper Rick Ross for absconding with about $90,000 worth of Rolexes that he didn’t pay for. According to reports, Rick Ross bought 3 diamond Rolexes from a famous hip hop jeweler in Texas last year and still hasn't paid for it.

Johnny's Custom Jewelery tells TMZ they delivered one 18K gold watch with 30CT of diamonds ($55,000), one 18K gold watch with 7CT of diamonds ($14,000), and one two-tone watch with 5CT of diamonds ($14,000) to Maybach Music last August but Rick Ross never paid up.

Johnny's Custom is suing Rick Ross and Maybach Music for the total amount due plus interest.

Govt officials withdraw support for OJB due to misinformation on funds raised

There have been speculations that some celebrities have been to see OJB and made some donations. While it's true that the likes of Don Jazzy, P-Square, Ruggedman, Mercy Johnson, Iyanya, Julius Aguw have contributed, the other names on the list that circulated today are 100% false. For instance, D'banj didn't give N7m, Wizkid didn't give N3m and 2face didn't give N1.5m.

Some of Nigeria’s finest celebrities came together for the launch of MTV Staying Alive Foundation campaign,Shuga, the globally acclaimed, award-winning TV drama about sex, youth and relationships.

MTV Base and MTV Staying Alive Foundation have joined forces with the Nigerian government’s National Agency for the Control of AIDS and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to combat a lack of awareness and misinformation about HIV, sexual responsibility and teen pregnancy among Nigerian youth, using the medium of Shuga, MTV’s award winning TV series and multimedia campaign.  PEPFAR (The US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief) has also expressed the intention to join forces with the campaign.

N8M Has Been Raised For OJB So Far

Vector and Ruggedman were the first musicians to visit OJB and they donated an undisclosed amount to him. During the week, Wizkid, Mercy Johnson Odi, Iyanya, Jude Okoye and the P-Square brothers also visited him. Iyanya donated N1m while P Square donated N5m.

The producer is still in need of another N8m to complete the money needed for his treatment.

The Supreme Court this morning ruled against California's controversial Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage in the state. Unilag Creative Arts students protest against sexual harassment

The Creative Arts students of the University of Lagos this morning protested over alleged sexual harassment of female students in the department by their lecturers.

The students stormed the Arts block this morning with placards to register their grievance and later moved their protest to the Social Science department. Female students of the department claim their lecturers are making life difficult for them by demanding sexual favours before they can pass their courses.

The students say they have had enough and after a meeting yesterday, decided to protest against the sexual harassment that has become the order of the day. The school authority is yet to respond to these allegations.

He did it quietly a few days back but when I found out, well, I just had to share it. Now calling on other artists to please do same. OJB Jezreel needs N15million for a kidney transplant in India. This guy has done so much for music in Nigeria and had helped so many Nigerian artists achieve success. Now is the time to give back.
